I would only add (for those who become frustrated and for those who find meditation a chore) that from time-to-time, we all need refreshment and it is good to return to original sources. Glickman recommends retreats. I haven't tried one yet, but I intend to, when the virus panic ends. The NIH report I cited has stats for overall meditation, but also for children. Their use of meditation is also increasing. Maybe the solution is starting them younger. Make it a curriculum item, and a few minutes at the start of each class could make instruction more effective. In a society trained in instant gratification, any exercise of self discipline is difficult.
Tai Chi and yoga are inherently meditation vehicles. The goal of meditation is calm clarity of mind, induced by alpha wave conditions, and obtaining the physical and emotional benefits. Lots of ways to achieve that. Important to explore, and find the ways that work best. It's an individualized pursuit.
