The primary co-morbidity for COVID-19 infection and adverse outcomes is obesity, which is a persistent pandemic in westernized nations. It's easy to correct.
Nice work and I bet you feel great. Somehow it’s unacceptable to mention the F (fat) word to anyone even if it could reduce Covid risk and lots of other diseases (and I say that as someone who could lose a few pounds and always appreciate when that’s pointed out to me). I don’t think I’ve heard any sensible health advice from government or MSM on losing weight, vitamin D etc.
And the really unfortunate part is the same people who are misleading us on covid are the same ones (FDA, etc) who gave us the food pyramid and refuse to acknowledge the high risks of junk food and sugar. Money talks.
There is a revolving door between the FDA and Pfizer. Before the American Civil War, there were more homeopathic medical schools than allopathic. Most Americans are now liable to reach for a pill (or several pills) instead of looking for healthy food, herbs, and homeopathic cures for illnesses. How Rockefeller founded modern medicine and killed …
Very interesting, thanks. And even our healthy food is being destroyed with chemicals etc. I also think there’s a reluctance to some of the natural cycles. If we’re not super happy and energetic 100% of the time then something is wrong whereas I believe there’s more of an ebb and flow to our bodies and nature. It’s ok if our kid has the sniffles and feels a little tired one day!
We have much to learn. Traditional medicine has a lot of benefits. Some are especially attracted to Chinese medicine. My acupuncturist is a practitioner of that, but I've had mixed results from her herbs. Interestingly, she happily integrates modern technologies, for example she uses an electric pulse generator to amplify the effects of her needles. And my cardiologist works at a major university hospital but runs an integrative health clinic on the side, so I get the best of both worlds there, too. An interesting book Spark In The Machine explores the relationships of traditional and modern medicine. And Magnesium Miracle suggests that magnesium is actually the producer of the life energy the Chinese call chi. Ultimately, we can probably explain traditional medicine in modern science terms. Until then, I'll try to hedge my bets with the best of both.
Like my politics, Charles - I try to adopt whatever works best for my health.
It is a shame, though, that most doctors focus on one or the other. The fear of defying orthodoxies inhibits a lot of progress, as we have certainly seen in the pandemic response.
The energy of the universe, though, favors a power center. When there are no plutocrats, one will arise. When there is one, another will compete. Rockefeller had a lot of powerful competitors. There's a mini series on history Channel about the 19th century plutocrats and how they formed America. Whether they we good or bad is arguable, but they definitely did a lot of good along the way.
Have we reached the point where healthy food is no longer affordable? My wife is buying a pound of organic asparagus, today. When I last bought a bag of it, it cost $7.98.
We're entering an inflationary period. Politics is driving that too, making the financial markets very interesting. Most of the world subsists on cheaper foods, made cheaper by the use of chemicals and manipulated genetics. Survival is higher priority than health for most of humanity. In a rational world all food would be organic, but we haven't achieved that yet. Fortunately, we're designed to expel many of the toxins we encounter in our contaminated world. I try to help that along with my daily sauna and maintaining immune health.
Exactly. Independent research...sponsored by the Sugar Association....the Dairy Association etc. And just pop this pill if you have X...and this one if you have Y...

And yes, that too. And then with reduced demand stores won’t even stock it
